Avoiding conflict does not make it disappear. It pushes inward, gathering weight until it finally breaks loose as something far greater. This work visualises that cycle, presenting the storm that brews when silence replaces confrontation.

Soaked and torn cardboard is layered onto canvas to form a surface that rises and falls like a restless sea. The use of recycled material grounds the piece in transformation: what was once discarded becomes charged with new tension and energy. Years of research into colour theory deepened the artist’s fascination with ultramarine, informed by Picasso’s Blue Period and the radical experiments of Yves Klein. Cold yet radiant, the colour reflects both the solitude of inner struggle and the intensity of suppressed emotion.

Together, these elements create more than an image of turbulent waters. They form a personal confession that touches the universal: the hidden consequences of avoidance and the storms we carry within.
